Starting off with the Grumans, a vibrant team of third-culture enthusiasts from Southeast Asia, embarking on the ride of their lives to revolutionize the drinking experience. Raised with the belief that life is meant to be fun, they bring that fresh perspective and energy to everything they do.

Nurtured by the magic of Michigan, the Grumans found their haven in its breathtaking landscapes. And because of that magic, Birdy was born as a heartfelt homage.

Teaming up with the renowned Oosterhouse brothers of Bonobo Winery and their talented winemaker and lifelong friend, Cornel Olivier, Birdy became a passion project, reflecting the unbreakable bonds of family and friendship.

    Meet Callie, a wine enthusiast who found a newfound appreciation for lighter living after the whirlwind of welcoming two children during the pandemic. With a background in management consulting, specializing in strategic marketing and business development, she's set her sights on ushering in a fresh approach to drinking culture.

    When she isn't enjoying her family or working, Callie loves to swim and chit chat with friends. Alongside her husband, she proudly calls Chicago home, where her go-to comfort meal is a plate of crispy french fries paired perfectly with a chilled Birdy.

  • Carter Oosterhouse, renowned for his carpentry prowess and hosting gigs on popular home improvement shows like Trading Spaces and Carter Can, currently dazzles audiences as the host of ABC's The Great Christmas Light Fight Show. However, what many may not realize is his co-founding of Bonobo Winery in Traverse City alongside his brother, Todd. Raised amidst the agricultural splendor of their environment, Carter's upbringing instilled a deep appreciation for farming and land stewardship—essential elements that infuse the essence of Birdy Juice.

  • Meet Tad: Passion for Mixology

    With years of hospitality experience, Tad has become a master in crafting exquisite drink recipes and has left his mark on the nightlife scenes of NYC and Washington, DC. His expertise has earned him recognition in prestigious publications such as The New York Times and various other fancy, high-profile publications.

    Based in charming Manhasset, NY, Tad finds himself delightfully outnumbered in his home by brilliant women, including his wife and two daughters.

  • As a Traverse City native, Todd Oosterhouse returned to his roots after over two decades to pursue his true passion in the wine industry. Alongside his brother, Carter, he co-founded and serves as the General Manager of Bonobo Winery. With a deep-seated affection for crafting unforgettable wine experiences and a profound love for agriculture and community, Todd brings invaluable expertise to the Birdy team. His blend of business acumen and dedication to redefining wine consumption make him instrumental as we chart a course to connect with a fresh wave of consumers.

  • Meet Tyler: A Global Explorer Bringing Worldly Perspective to Birdy's Mission

    Brother-in-law to Callie and Tad, Tyler brings international experience and entrepreneurial spirit to the Birdy team, where he leads sales, distribution, and partnership development. Originally from Memphis, his journey has taken him around the world before settling in Chicago.

    With a decade of experience in hospitality and bars, Tyler developed an intimate understanding of drinking culture. His passion for Birdy stems from his belief that people deserve more control over their drinking experience—he's energized by Birdy's low-sugar approach that lets you enjoy the moment without the negative aftermath.

When he's not busy in the cellar, you'll find him coaching high school rugby or tending to his farm, where he proudly oversees his 'flock' and cherishes family time with his four children spanning ages 2 to 20. Cornel's dedication to his craft and his vibrant life outside the vineyard make him an invaluable asset to the Birdy team
